Montana muley bucks
« on: November 21, 2011, 07:18:03 PM »
Here's a couple of the bucks we killed in Mt. this year. Mine is the first buck and the second is my buddies. I killed my deer on the first day of our hunt, which I told myself I wouldn't do, but a guy who mostly chases blacktails can only let so many 4 points walk in one day :chuckle: We had him dead to rights at 60yds or so in his bed but slid back and circled above him to see if we could spot the other buck he entered the draw with earlier. He knew something was up and had his chin almost in the dirt trying to be invisible. As we were each whispering to the other to shoot that buck, he's a good looking deer!, he stood up and scrammed like a shot from a gun, but turned broadside a few hundred yards up the hill and I let him have it.
The next day we spotted a real pig chaseing does and eventually made our way up above and around him. We bumped him out of the draw he was in and watched him go straight away for a looong ways, but we had gotten a good enough look to know that he was worth going after. A few draws later we had unknowingly caught up to him. A handfull of does moved out above and below us, we snuck up a few more steps and like a rooster he came bursting out of the buck brush. I put him in my binos and could see trash sticking out everywere, that's a shooter bud! As he came up the opposite hillside Ryan dumped him. He has 14 points and crazy mass, the pics really dont do him justice. All in all we had a blast, got to hunt some beautiful country and were fortunate enough to harvest a couple great deer. They are in good hands down at buckluckys
